The mountain serves as a metaphor for the Mountains to Sea National Greenway, which stretches from Yushan along the Zengwen River basin to the inner sea of Taikang, depicting the flowing landscapes and histories between the mountains and the sea.

The intertwining lines are inspired by the cultural patterns of diverse ethnic groups such as the Bunun, Tsou, Siraya, and Han, symbolizing encounters, exchanges, and coexistence across time. The open and transparent space allows wind, light, and scenery to pass freely through. As people move within, their presence becomes part of the work, shaping a continuously flowing cultural landscape.
